We are pleased to announce the successful installation and official handover of a 10-kilowatt solar power system donated to Edo State University Teaching Hospital, Auchi, by Hon. Dekeri Sunday Anamero (Danco). The facility was formally handed over to Management on Tuesday, 13th January, 2026.
The solar power system has been strategically installed at the new Obstetrics & Gynaecology building which houses the Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU), delivery room, labour ward, antenatal and postnatal wards, critical service areas that operate continuously and provide essential services for maternal and newborn care. Reliable power supply in this unit is fundamental for safe deliveries, emergency interventions, and the effective operation of life-saving medical equipment.
Speaking on the donation, the Ag. Chief Medical Director, Dr. Tijani Oseni stated, “This intervention is both timely and impactful. It significantly strengthens our capacity to deliver safe and uninterrupted maternal healthcare and reflects the value of meaningful partnerships in advancing patient outcomes.”
We appreciate Hon. Dekeri Sunday Anamero for this thoughtful contribution and reaffirm our commitment to the proper utilization and maintenance of the facility for sustainable benefit.
We also encourage continued collaboration with individuals and organizations committed to supporting quality healthcare delivery at Edo State University Teaching Hospital.
